  • 29% of respondents came from companies with 1,000 or more employees; 41% came from companies with 100 or fewer employees
  • InfoQ readers are seasoned influencers: 57% of participants are team leads or supervisors, and 26% have cross-team managerial responsibility

  • 76% of respondents said they come because of practitioner-led, high-quality content 73% come for innovative information that drives innovation in their organizations
  • The three most followed content areas on InfoQ for respondents are Java (66% of respondents), Architecture (65%), and Agile (59%)

Your Innovation

  • 33% of respondents are building b2b mobile applications and 26% are planning to do in the next 12 months; 32% are building consumer mobile applications and 21% are planning to do so in the next few months
  • Java is the most used programming language in the past year (76% of respondents), followed by JavaScript (70%)
  • 75% of respondents are using relational databases, and 61% use Java EE
  • The top 5 agile practices used by respondents are continuous integration (55%), standup/scrum meetings (47%), refactoring (47%), short iterations/springs (45%), and test automation (39%)
  • 49% are currently implementing or planning a private cloud-based computing option; 36% are currently implementing or planning a public cloud-based solution

Referral of InfoQ

  • 90.4% of respondents would refer or have referred InfoQ to a colleague. We thank you for your loyalty and trust, and we work hard to keep it.

Sharing Content

  • 86% of our readers in this survey actively forward content, and the most popular content forwarded are articles and presentations, respectively.
  • 52% share links from InfoQ 1-3 times per month, 10% share 7 or more times per month
