According to the Microsoft Connect, the long awaited Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005 will be released in December.

Microsoft has often been accused of prematurely releasing Visual Studio 2005. Since its release, it has been plagued with complaints about random crashes and poor performance. And while many of the over 350 bugs and suggestions are available as hot fixes, they require searching through the Knowledge Base and a call to product support.
