InfoQ eMag: QCon New York 2015 Report

The fourth annual QCon New York was the biggest yet, bringing together over 800 team leads, architects, project managers, and engineering directors. Keynotes were given by one of the key drivers of the Lean software development movement Mary Poppendieck, Java champion and engineer Trisha Gee with former NASA researcher Todd Montgomery, and Zudio founder and stand- up comedian Mark Rendle.

In total, over 100 practitioner-speakers presented 71 full-length technical sessions and 18 in-depth tutorials over the course of five days, providing deep insights into real-world architectures and state of the art software development practices from a practitioner’s perspective.

As well as our standard 50 minute talks, this year we added a selection of 21 shorter "mini-talks" to the event covering topics such as algorithms for anti-money laundering, creating a culture of experimentation, real-time distributed event-driven computing at Credit Suisse, and testing.

This eMag provides a round-up of what we and some of our attendees felt were the most important sessions from QCon New York 2015.
