Kentico, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and the developer of an ASP.NET based content management system has announced the release of Kentico CMS version 7 with several new features. Kentico CMS 7 introduces an advanced workflow option which enables developers to create a workflow using a new visual designer where they can simply drag and drop workflow components and connect those using transitions. Moreover, developers will be able to specify email templates for each type of notification email and define excluded roles in the workflow security. It is also possible to exclude items or sections from workflow or define macro condition which must match to start the workflow on particular document.

“With the help of the banner management module which has been integrated into the version 7, developers will be able to define banner categories as groups of banners with the ability to track hits for each banner”, says Martin Hejtmanek, chief technology officer at Kentico. Moreover, the latest version also includes integrated translation services with APIs from Google and Bing.

Kentico CMS 7 includes a new wireframing module which provides a whole new set of web parts and will have the ability to position them to specific static location on the page, hosted in a wireframe document type. It also enables users to make changes to the content or even simply create new documents within existing site structure from the live UI without the need to switch to CMS desk.

“Working with Kentico is well worth overcoming the initial learning curve and it speeds up the job of adding features and development of complex web sites on time and budget. It helps us stay competitive on price and quality”, said Hilton Sher, director of Israel based 4Hilton. Kentico 7 has added a set of web parts for the creation of wizards and also includes an accessibility validator which should enable users with disabilities to get most of the CMS.

“Ever since we deployed Kentico, number of visitors to one of our client website has been increased by 400% due to the powerful search engine optimization techniques”, says Douglas Lim, Managing Director at Australia based Alyka Web Design.

As of the time of this writing, the Kentico CMS 7 is available in release candidate mode, which means that the features are subject to change. Kentico is expected to release the final version at the time of Kentico connections conference which is scheduled to be held in September in Denver.

According to Mark Prins, Development Manager, Datacom, New Zealand “Kentico has enabled us to deliver sites more quickly than with previous CMS frameworks, and with more functionality which in turn frees us to explore new areas of business and add extra value to our clients.”

Founded in 2004 by Petr Palas, Kentico is headquartered in the Czech Republic and has offices in the United States, United Kingdom and Sydney. Since its inception, Kentico has continued to rapidly expand the Kentico CMS user base worldwide. Its partner network consists of 1,200 partners in 80+ countries.
