A Course Is Not Mandatory Anymore for the Professional Software Developer 1 Assessment

Bookmarks

Scrum.org announced last august in PSD 1 assessment is now available to all that it is no longer mandatory to do a Professional Software Developer 1 course to do the PSD 1 assessment:

Assessing one’s knowledge is a great way to validate, learn, and improve one’s understanding of a given subject area. Now, software professionals who work together on Scrum Teams can do just that, by attempting the Professional Scrum Developer I (PSD I) assessment, without taking a course.

Developers can sign up for the Professional Software Developer 1 Assessment at scrum.org:

Anyone who feels they possess the knowledge of how to build complex software products using agile engineering practices and Scrum can validate that knowledge by taking the PSD I assessment from Scrum.org. Those who pass the assessment receive the industry recognized PSD I Certification.

The Professional Scrum Developer Assessments supports the mission of scrum.org “To improve the profession of Software Development”:

The Professional Scrum Developer I (PSD I) assessment measures knowledge of how to build complex software products using Scrum, and allows people to validate this understanding.

In the Professional Scrum Developer Objective Domain the Scrum frameworks and the software development techniques are described. It can be used to prepare for the PSD 1 assessment.
