  • Atlassian Opens up Team Health Monitors and Team Playbook Blueprints

    After introducing a tool-agnostic version of its Team Health Monitors at Summit 2016, Atlassian now also bundles Team Playbook blueprints with the recently released Confluence Server 6.1. A Health Monitor workshop is a team self-assessment aiming to identify pain points and formulate a plan to address weak spots by running low-ceremony "plays" that "can help improve a team's overall health".

  • Jay Simons on Acquisition of Trello

    As announced by Atlassian, a solutions provider for team collaboration and productivity, on January 9th, 2017, the company has reached an agreement to acquire Trello, a visualization tool that makes use of boards to help teams and people manage their projects and tasks.

  • Bitbucket Pipelines Provides Continuous Delivery within Atlassian’s Bitbucket Cloud

    Atlassian released Bitbucket Pipelines beta at AtlasCamp 2016 in Barcelona to provide a Continuous Delivery pipeline within Bitbucket Cloud. At the same time, Atlassian announced the end-of-life for their current cloud based CI/CD solution Bamboo Cloud by 31 January 2017, while emphasizing that Bamboo Server continues to be their on-premise CI/CD offering for Bitbucket Server (formerly Stash).

    Atlassian’s new release of Portfolio for JIRA features real-time portfolio planning. Team work is automatically synchronized with the release plan by pulling team and project data from JIRA into the product portfolio plan.

  • Atlassian Bamboo 5.11 Delivers Continuous Integration At Scale

    Atlassian, makers of development tools such as JIRA and Confluence, have just released version 5.11 of their continuous delivery tool Bamboo with a host of new features to help teams scale and collaborate. The key feature in this new release is the ability to scale from 100 to 250 elastic build agents.

  • Atlassian Launches JIRA 7 Platform with Three Standalone JIRA Editions

    Development and collaboration software vendor Atlassian released version 7 of its project tracking application JIRA as three new standalone products: JIRA Core, JIRA Software and JIRA Service Desk. All three products are build atop a common platform to better serve non-technical business teams, development teams as well as IT and other service teams with an edition tailored to each team’s needs.

  • Atlassian's Stash Data Center Offers High Availability and Scalability for Git

    Atlassian recently released Stash Data Center, a highly available and horizontally scalable deployment option for its on-premises source code and Git repository management solution Stash. New nodes can be added without downtime to provide active-active clustering and instant scalability.

  • Bitbucket Launches Snippets for Teams

    Atlassian's popular source code hosting site Bitbucket launched Snippets for teams, a collaboration oriented solution to "create and manage multi-file snippets of all kinds". Snippets can be created via drag and drop, owned by a user or a team and optionally shared publicly. They are backed by Git or Mercurial repositories and can be managed via a REST API.

  • Gartner and Software Advice examine Agile Lifecycle Management Tools

    In February 2015 both Gartner and Software Advice released research and analysis into agile lifecycle management/project management tools. The Gartner Magic Quadrant identifies that the big players have a competitive advantage and the Software Advice study found which aspects of the tools projects managers find most useful.

    Development and collaboration software vendor Atlassian recently launched HipChat Server, an on-premise version of its text, audio and video chat, file and screen sharing, as well as third party integration offering for team collaboration.
