Microsoft has intensified its marketing efforts on SOA with the launch of a new web site, a series of webinars, an ebook, “SOA in the Real World” and the “SOA & Business Process Conference 2007”. In the next couple of months Microsoft will also be releasing .Net 3.5 and an ESB Guidance. InfoQ talked to Dino Chiesa, Director of Marketing for .Net to better understand Microsoft's SOA strategy.

CodePlex has recently announced that it is supporting SVN clients, like TortoiseSVN, to connect to its code repository in order to synchronize source code and resources. In the past, SVN users had to run SvnBridge every time they wanted to synchronize with CodePlex, but now it can be done only by using the correct URL in SVN client's settings.

Microsoft has created a new site named Code Gallery, dedicated to code and application sharing. Both Microsoft employees and community members can contribute to this site and use the resources available on it.

Microsoft's shared source project repository, CodePlex has emerged from its public beta, as announced yesterday at the Open Source Business Conference in London. Similar in concept to SourceForge, and Microsoft's earlier .NET community effort GotDotNet, CodePlex is based on Microsoft's Team Foundation Server.

Microsoft has launched the Beta of CodePlex, an online software development environment for open and shared source developers to create, host and manage projects throughout the project lifecycle. Codeplex was developed from scratch using C# 2.0 with Team Foundation Server as the backend.
