Microsoft has made available the Web Platform Installer, aka Web PI, a tool used to install the entire Microsoft web platform including: IIS7, Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition, SQL Server 2008 Express Edition, .NET Framework. A beta Web Application Installer, aka Web AI, has also being made available offering the user the choice to install the most popular free web applications for a Windows Server.
Web PI allows to select specific Microsoft web products and finds out when a new version is available for download. Some of the products included are:
Web PI runs on the following operating systems: Vista, Vista SP1, XP, Server 2003, Server 2008, both on 32 and 64-bit machines.
Another installer from Microsoft is Web AI which supports popular ASP.NET and PHP web applications including:
Web AI is supported on Vista SP1 and Server 2008 on 32-bit and 64-bit machines.
