Laurence Moroney is a Technology Evangelist for Silverlight at Microsoft. He is the author of 10 computer books, including 'Programming Web.NEXT' from Microsoft Press. Laurence has 15 years experience in the technology industry, having worked as a developer and architect in systems as diverse as jail security, casinos, financial services and interoperability.

    It was just yesterday when I watched the Douglas Crockford's video on State of Ajax, and in that video he mentions that today's browsers are not ready for meeting the new richer User Interface requirements, and if browsers are not fixed soon, technologies like Silverlight and Adobe AIR will become more prevalent. This presentation gives a nice introduction to Silverlight and explains why it can potentially replace pure browser-based interfaces.
