Owen Garrett is Head of Products and Community at Deepfence Inc. and shapes the open source strategy for Deepfence's security technologies. Building on 20 years of experience in software engineering and product leadership at companies such as Riverbed, NGINX, and F5, he directs Deepfence's roadmap to create an open source 'security and observability' platform for cloud-native applications. Prior to Deepfence, Owen led products at NGINX and during that time, NGINX grew to be one of the most widely-deployed open source projects, securing over 500 million websites and forming the core of countless ecosystem projects. Owen holds several patents in networking technology, and is a regular conference speaker and thought leader at industry events.
