Philip Fisher-Ogden

Philip Fisher-Ogden is the Director of Engineering for Discovery & Playback Services at Netflix, responsible for the cloud-based APIs/systems that enable finding and watching streaming content. These systems are the first critical layer that supports the delivery of over 140 million hours of streaming video per day to 125M+ global members. Prior to Netflix, Philip explored the impact technology could have on education as a Teach for America teacher, and then traveled from startup to national lab to graduate school before his love for movies won out and brought him to Netflix. Philip received a BS degree from UCSD and a MS degree from UC Davis, where he focused on databases and information systems.
