Aptana Cloud Connect for Java

by Alex Blewitt on Apr 03, 2009 |

Last week, Aptana, developers of the PyDev Python IDE for Eclipse, announced the availability of cloud support via Aptana Cloud Connect. Aptana Cloud is a general cloud hosting service which is portable between Amazon EC2 and other cloud environments. The Aptana CLoud Connect plugin is an extension to the Aptana Studio product which allows remote instances to be managed, installed and statistics gathered. In addition, it provides team capabilities so that others can use the same service, as well as supporting development, pre-release and released versions of software.

The initial release focusses on web applications using Java Servlets, Java Server Pages, Java Server Faces and Spring technologies, along with Tomcat and MySQL.

In addition, Aptana Cloud Conect and Aptana Studio also supports Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python and Jaxer, an AJAX server based on Mozilla Firefox.

A free trial of Aptana Cloud is available. For more information, visit Aptana.
