  • Portlet 2.0 Specification Ready for Public Review

    Version 2.0 of the Portlet Specification (JSR 286) has been released for public review. The reference implementation for this JSR will be the Apache Pluto project. The new Portlet Specifications will add functionality that was not addressed in the first version specification.

  • eXo Java Content Repository and ECM 1.0 Released

    Exo and Objectweb have announced the release of their Java Content Repository JCR 1.0 open source product (an implementation of JSR 170) as well as ECM (Enterprise Content Management) 1.0 tools, part of the eXo portal platform which also includes a JSR 168 compliant portal server.

  • CRX Content Repository for Java 1.2 Released

    Day Software has released version 1.2 of Day Content Repository Extreme (CRX). CRX is a content repository implementing the new Content Repository for Java Technology (JCR) standard. This release adds Apache Derby support, Active/Passive Clustering, and full JSR 170 compliance. InfoQ spoke to Day CTO David Nuescheler to get more information.

  • WebLogic Server 9.2, Portal 9.2, Workshop on Eclipse Released

    BEA last week released the WebLogic 9.2 platform family of products including WebLogic Server, WebLogic Portal (which now runs on WL 9.2), and Workshop for WebLogic (now built on Eclipse for the first time).

  • Magnolia 3 Enterprise Content Management Released

    Magnolia, the CMS that InfoQ itself uses, has released version 3 of its open-source Enterprise Content Management System (ECM) today. Main new features include workflow, versioning, JSR-168 support, single-sign-on, scheduled content publishing, a browser-based template-designer, a deployment packager and a new UI.

  • Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) 2.0 Draft Available

    The OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) Technical Committee announced today that WSRP 2.0, the latest major revision of the portal integration technology specification has gone into public review.
