  • IBM Launches Blockchain as a Service

    At the company’s recent InterConnect conference, IBM announced the release of IBM Blockchain as a Service. This service is based upon the Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger Fabric version 1.0 and runs on IBM’s high security network which is underpinned by LinuxONE. Previously, the Hyperledger Fabric was in an incubator state and has since been promoted to an active state.

  • Enterprise Ethereum Alliance Releases Vision Paper

    The newly formed Enterprise Ethereum Alliance has published a Vision Paper outlining “a vision for users and stakeholders to propose, implement, and integrate advances to the Ethereum protocol with support for Enterprise Ethereum protocols.” In this paper the EEA discusses many topics related to Pluggable Consensus, interoperability, Ethereum protocol updates, storage and performance.

  • The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance is Formed - Microsoft, Intel, JP Morgan, Startups Join

    In a recent blog post, Microsoft announced their participation in the newly formed Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. The mission for this alliance is to learn from and build upon the only smart contract supporting blockchain currently running in real-world production and to define enterprise-grade software capable of handling the most complex, highly demanding applications at the speed of business.

  • Microsoft Releases Asp.Net Core 1.1 Preview 1

    Microsoft recently released ASP.NET Core 1.1 preview. This version includes several new middleware components, WebListener server for Windows, Razor view compilation and Azure related features.

  • Microsoft Announces Azure DNS General Availability

    On September 26th, Microsoft announced the Azure DNS service has reached General Availability (GA) in all public Azure regions. Azure DNS allows customers to host their DNS domain in Azure, so they can manage their DNS records using the same credentials, billing and support contract as their other Azure services.

  • Azure Functions Support Added to Azure IoT Gateway SDK

    Earlier this month, Microsoft added support for their serverless event driven platform, Azure Functions, within the Azure IoT Gateway SDK. This addition provides a cloud-based extensibility point for developers building IoT solutions on top of Azure.

  • First Release of Project Bletchley on Microsoft Azure Blockchain-as-a-Service

    Microsoft announced the first release of Project Bletchley, which is Microsoft's approach to building a cloud-based enterprise consortium blockchain ecosystem. This first release is primarily focused on a questionnaire based automated deployment along with roadmap details for the Cryptlet middleware tier.

  • AWS Adds Native SQL Server Backups to Database-as-a-Service

    AWS released an update to its Relational Database Service (RDS) that allows users to take advantage of native SQL Server backup and restore functionality. AWS beat Microsoft Azure to market with this capability which simplifies database migration and disaster recovery scenarios.

  • Azure Premium Messaging Service Reaches General Availability

    On July 15th, Microsoft announced the Azure Premium Messaging service has reached General Availability (GA). Premium Messaging targets customers who would like more predictable messaging performance.
