Microsoft Adds Team and LUIS Support for Flow
Microsoft has recently announced changes to its cloud workflow service, Flow, to enable teams to contribute and manage flows centrally. This new sharing capability is also available to SaaS and custom API Connectors. In addition to these collaboration features, Microsoft has also announced support for Gmail connectivity and integration with additional Microsoft Cognitive Services APIs.

Snapchat’s Reliance on Google Cloud Raises Concerns Following IPO Filing
Snap Inc., the company responsible for Snapchat, has prompted questions around its reliance on Google Cloud, following its $3 billion IPO filing. Reporting 158 million average daily active users, and annual revenue of $404.4 million, the company entered into an agreement with Google to purchase at least $400 million of cloud services in each year of the five year agreement.

MicroProfile Becomes Eclipse MicroProfile
MicroProfile, the community initiative to provide a microservices standard for enterprise Java, has joined the Eclipse Foundation. The move is aimed at ensuring that MicroProfile remains a vendor-neutral project, and hopes to leverage the resources and momentum of the Eclipse Foundation. The decision has caused some arguments and temporarily diverted efforts from other objectives.

Google Pursues Enterprise, Targets Windows and SQL Server Workloads
Google recently announced increased support for Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server, in the Google Cloud Platform, by providing pre-configured images for Windows Server Core and SQL Server Enterprise Edition. Google has also added support for High Availability and Disaster Recovery scenarios using SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups.

Netflix Introduces Hollow, a Java Library for Processing In-Memory Datasets
Netflix recently introduced Hollow, a Java library and toolset for processing in-memory datasets that aren’t characterized as “big data.” A single producer provides datasets from which many consumers have read-only access. The communication mechanism between producer and consumer includes real-time dataset changes.

Java 9 Enters First Bug Fixing Round
Java 9 is now officially feature complete, meaning the first bug-fixing phase has started. HTTP/2 Client didn't make it on time for the deadline and has been downgraded to an incubating feature. Since the objective now is to prepare Java 9 for general availability in July, it is very unlikely that any new JEP will be added at this point.
