Cloud IoT Core Service in Google Cloud Platform Is Now Generally Available
Google announced the general availability of its Cloud IoT Core, a managed service to help enterprises connect and manage millions of connected devices. The Cloud IoT Core will offer its users a system for controlling the connection of the internet of things (IoT) devices with Google’s Cloud Platform (GPC) and a pipeline for getting data to and from those devices.

If the court rules that the data must be handed over, it is uncertain if the U.S. Congress would change the law, and what the actual content of a new law might be. Last year, DigitalOcean added support for firewalls, monitoring, load balancers, and object storage. Today's announcement highlights three new classes of servers, some with upgraded CPU, memory and storage.

The latest version of the container orchestration framework Kubernetes supports GA version of Workloads API, container storage enhancements and Windows support (beta). The Kubernetes team announced the release of version 1.9 last week. This is the fourth and final release this year, and also supports the Custom Resource Definition (CRD) validation.

Gremlin allows the controlled injection of resource, network and state failure to managed infrastructure so that engineers can observe the behaviour of the system.

Creating and Enforcing "Policy as Code" with HashiCorp Sentinel
HashiCorp have released Sentinel, an embedded “policy as code” framework that is integrated within the HashiCorp Enterprise products. Sentinel enables “fine-grained, logic-based policy decisions” that can be used to automatically audit and enforce organisational, compliance or security policies when working with Infrastructure as Code and other HashiCorp platform tooling.

DockerCon Europe 2017: Docker EE and CE to Include Kubernetes Integration
At DockerCon Europe 2017 it was announced that Docker will be integrating Kubernetes into the Docker Platform and Moby Project. Containers to Overtake VMs in Application Platform Space, Says SDxCentral Survey
One of the key findings of the 2017 Container and Cloud Orchestration Report from SDXCentral is that container adoption has steadily increased in the last two years and is set to overtake virtual machines (VMs) in the application platform space. In 2016, only 8% of respondents had deployed containers while this year, 45% are already using it.
