    The SFHTML5 group recently had a meeting discussing HTML5 technologies for creating virtual reality experiences – WebGL, WebVR, Three.js, GLAM –, and the current development status for implementing support for them in Firefox and Chrome. The idea is to bring the entire web into the VR experience.

  • jQuery Takes Over the Pointer Events Polyfill from Google

    The Chromium team announced back in August that Google is no longer working on implementing Pointer Events in Chrome in order to focus on Touch Events. Now they have given control to the Pointer Events polyfill library to jQuery which is hoping to “drive developer adoption of this unified event system” and eventually see “all browsers implement this standard natively.”

  • Xamarin Encourages Developers to Begin Supporting 64-Bit Architecture on iOS

    Xamarin is encouraging developers to begin adding 64-bit support to their iOS apps. The request comes only two months before Apple’s February deadline for new app submissions to be built against the iOS 8 SDK with support for the 64-bit architecture.

    Parse has announced Push Experiments, a feature that allows to conduct A/B tests for campaigns based on the use of push notifications, which are often deployed to re-engage users in mobile apps. Push Experiments will allow to evaluate different messaging strategy and choose the one with the highest open rate, say Parse.
