Ben Galbraith and Dion Almaer present the current status of the browser as a platform and what it takes to be successful: a very fast JavaScript engine, using Canvas or no more drawing plug-ins, thread support, transforming it into a desktop, taking over mobile devices, great UI, and others.

Dion Almaer and Ben Galbraith are the founders of and leaders of a new group at Mozilla focusing on developer tools for the Web. Ben Galbraith is a technical speaker, occasional consultant, and author of several Java-related books. They are both speakers at various events like JavaOne, JavaPolis, No Fluff Just Stuff Java Symposiums, Web 2.0 expo, and others.
