Bio

Karen Kinnear is the Technical Lead for the Hotspot Java Virtual Machine Runtime team at Oracle. She began her career in operating systems and networking, and has been working on the internals of various Java virtual machines since 2000. Her recent individual contributions to the JVM have been to value types (Valhalla), modules (Jigsaw), default methods (Lambda), and parallel class loading.

Entering its 12th year, the Emerging Technologies Conference has brought the leaders of the open source community to Philadelphia to teach about their projects, their work and how these technologies are changing software development. During this time, ETE has become one of the largest gatherings of developers in the mid-Atlantic.
