Summary

Sander Mak explores the benefits of a modular codebase using Java 9 modules. After reviewing the basic concepts of modules, he looks at what it means to take an existing application to this new modular world. He explains what issues we can encounter when moving to Java 9 and how to address them.

Bio

Sander Mak is a Fellow at Luminis in The Netherlands, where he crafts modular and scalable software, most often on the JVM, but with a touch of TypeScript when needed. He also is a Java Champion and author of the O'Reilly book 'Java 9 Modularity'.
