Bio

Bernd Mathiske is a Senior Staff Engineer and the principal investigator of the Maxine project, creating a meta-circular Virtual Machine for the Java platform written in Java 5. Recently, Mathiske was instrumental in transferring the MVM multi-tasking technology from Sun Labs' Barcelona project into the Monty JVM, and in developing J2ME platform enhancements for multi-tasking in mobile phones.

The 2008 JVM Language Summit is an open technical collaboration among language designers, compiler writers, tool builders, runtime engineers, and VM architects. The talks inform the audience, in detail, about the state of the art of language design and implementation on the JVM, and the present and future capabilities of the JVM itself.
