Jafar Husain, Matthew Podwysocki teach developers to think about events as collections, demonstrating some basic collection operations to express complex asynchronous programs as simple expressions.


Jafar Husain (@jhusain) has designed the RESTful data access framework that powers Netflix UIs. His interests include programming languages, functional reactive programming, and UI design patterns. Matthew Podwysocki (@mattpodwysocki) currently works with the Rx team at Microsoft, focusing on all versions of the Reactive Extensions for .Net, C++, JavaScript, Python and Ruby.

Code Mesh London is an annual conference dedicated to non-mainstream languages and technologies. In 2013 it featured over 50 talks from experts in languages, libraries, operating systems and technologies that handle the programming and business challenges of today. Languages discussed include Haskell, Clojure, Erlang, Elixir, Rust, Go and Julia.
