Patrick Bohrer and Chris Bailey talk about the Swift language, one of the most popular mobile programming languages. Since the introduction of open source Swift for Linux, IBM has been enabling the language on the IBM Cloud. They present a preview of IBM’s latest cloud deployment configurations, Swift package-based cloud services, tools integration, and their plan to bring Swift to the server.


Patrick Bohrer is a Distinguished Engineer in IBM’s Cloud division. His responsibilities include serving as the technical lead for the Mobile Innovation Lab in Austin, Texas, as well as, leading IBM’s Global Swift Engineering efforts. Chris Bailey is responsible for the monitoring, support and serviceability of IBM runtimes.
