Setting out for Service Component Architecture
Oct 18, 2007
Henning Blohm, Java EE Software Architect at SAP and Co-Chair of the SCA-J Technical Committee provides his perspective on Service Component Architecture as a cross-technology programming model integration. He argues that for vendors, SCA lowers the marginal costs of providing implementation or binding technology to its users and for users SCA reduces the marginal costs of making use of them.
Composite Software Construction
Composite Software offers a new level of granularity when compared to SaaS (Software as a Service). Composite Software is about enabling "right-sourcing", i.e. move (or keep) arbitrary small or large elements of functionality wherever it is the most cost effective to operate them, not just entire systems. Economically, "right-sourcing" is far more efficient than "outsourcing" and SaaS.
