MyEclipse for Spring 8.6 Released with Flex, GWT and iPhone Scaffolding
Genuitec and Skyway Software have announced the release of MyEclipse for Spring 8.6. The latest release includes accelerators for Spring Core, Adobe Flex, Spring MVC, GWT, Spring Web Flow and iPhone Web applications. The release also introduces a new set of Spring development editors, Code Assistants, that facilitate the annotation-based development of Spring and JAX-WS artifacts.

OpenCredo Announces AMQP Support for Spring Integration
OpenCredo Ltd has announced support for talking to Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) based messagng servers from Spring Integration, a lightweight ESB-like messaging framework. The new support brings MOM vendors whose product doesn't support JMS to users of the Spring Integration framework. Some Message Queues, like RabbitMQ, are very scalable and don't support JMS.

Apache Beehive Retired, Moved To Apache Attic
Last month, the committers of the Apache Beehive project voted to retire the project due to inactivity. The last release of Apache Beehive was version 1.0.2, which was released in December 2006. In the announcement posted on Feb 10th, Henri Yandell suggested alternatives for the main components which were part of Beehive.

Dependency Injection harmonized for Java EE 6
Earlier this year, Google and SpringSource announced that they were co-operating on a standard set of annotations to be used for dependency injection which were proposed via JSR-330. These annotations didn't line up with those proposed for JSR-299, which generated controversy that has now been resolved, with JSR-299 adopting the JSR-330 annotations and both moving forward to be part of Java EE 6.
