  • Microsoft Releases Visual Studio 2019 for Mac v8.9

    Earlier this week, Microsoft released Visual Studio 2019 version 8.9 for Mac. The new release includes support for .NET 6 Preview 1 and testing Unity applications. It also contains improvements such as more accessible UIs, solution filtering, a new native XML editor, and support for the Apple M1 chip via the Rosetta 2 translation layer.

    Earlier this week, Microsoft released Visual Studio 2019 version 16.9 for Windows.   • IntelliJ IDEA 2021.1 EAP 1 Supports Java 16

    JetBrains released IntelliJ IDEA 2021.1 EAP 1 featuring full support for Java 16. Other noteworthy features include support for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2, a built-in browser to preview HTML files, and improved profiling support. This release also makes it possible to run applications via Docker, SSL, and WSL.

  • Microsoft Releases Git Experience in Visual Studio

    Earlier this month, during the 2020 edition of .NET Conf, Microsoft released the latest version of Visual Studio for Windows. One of the most critical features of this release was what Microsoft called "The Git Experience": a set of tools that makes Git the default source control experience in Visual Studio 2019, allowing the developer to control a Git repository directly from Visual Studio.
