Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 has been released to manufacturing and is now available on the Microsoft download center. This power pack fixes the acknowledged data corruption bug and provides the following improvements:
  • x64 support for home computers running Windows Vista
  • Home Server Shared Folder backup
  • Improved remote access experience
  • Improvements to power consumption and performance
  • Localised products for Japan and China
Power Pack 1 is a free upgrade for all Windows Home Server owners. Non-English editions should be available according to following schedule:
  • August 4th - German, Spanish and French editions will be available also via the Microsoft Download Center.
  • August 12th - all versions of Power Pack 1 will be available to download directly via Windows Update.
By early September, everyone purchasing the OEM edition of Windows Home Server for self-built systems should find Power Pack 1 included in their build of Windows Home Server.

Windows Home Server OEM partners will be updating their systems with Power Pack 1 and HP will release a software update for the HP MediaSmart Server, delivering enhanced media streaming capabilities from PacketVideo, server-side anti-virus from McAfee and compatibility with 64-bit home PCs.

Microsoft has also provided updated documentation for Power Pack 1.

Note: For participants in the beta testing program, it is required to uninstall the beta release before installing this update: Build #1800.
