Squid Wrangling

Sam Newman and Chris Read describe the architectural change of a large European website by introducing a caching layer based on Squid in order to scale out to handle increased demand, and the cultural change done by breaking down the dev-ops silos.

Sam Newman is a technical consultant at ThoughtWorks. He has written articles for O'Reilly and presented at conferences. He is mainly a Java developer, but he also spends lots of time with Scala, Python, and Javascript. Chris Read currently works at DRW as a DevOp.
