Tasktop Supports Integration with ScrumWorks Pro and ThoughtWorks Adaptive ALM Tools
Tasktop Technologies, the company behind Eclipse Mylyn Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration framework, now supports integration with Danube Technologies Scrumworks Pro and ThoughtWorks Studios Adaptive ALM software. Tasktop also released Tasktop Pro 1.5 version back in June.

Intalio acquires Webtide, makers of Jetty
Intalio, Inc., the Enterprise Cloud Company, announced the acquisition of Webtide, the team behind the Jetty open source Java application server. Jetty is currently used on millions of web servers, and powers products such as Cisco SESM, Google AppEngine, Google GWT, HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli NetView, Oracle WebLogic Business Connect, Sybase EAServer, and Yahoo! Zimbra.

OSGi: The Next Release
Peter Kriens, technical director of the OSGi alliance, gave a presentation on the upcoming OSGi 4.2 release at the UK OSGi Users Group. The event was recorded, and the video is now available. OSGi 4.2 is expected to be released to the public by the end of August 2009 and includes a number of new features.

Results of the Eclipse Community Survey
The Eclipse Foundation has conducted a survey in order to discover statistical details about its members: the OS used while developing, the primary database or the main deployment application server, and other information like the level of satisfaction using Eclipse. Windows is down 10%, Linux up 7%, and Mac OS X up 3.5%.

Eclipse DemoCamp London
Eclipse DemoCamps have been organized around the world over the months of May and June to cover some of the new features of Eclipse Galileo. Today, the London DemoCamp was held at SkillsMatter, presenting NatTable, a high-performance SWT table with extended features, a retrospective of JQuantLib's experiences of moving to OSGi and a demo of Xtext, a powerful text-based DSL modelling tool.

Eclipse Galileo released
The Eclipse Foundation today announced the release of Eclipse Galileo, the simultaneous release of 33 projects, including the venerable Eclipse JDT. As well as the new features covered by InfoQ already, the Galileo release includes the PHP Development Tools Project, as well as stalwarts like modelling packages and the persistence layer EclipseLink (formerly known as Oracle's TopLink).

Actuate has announced the BIRT Global Partner Connection at BIRT Exchange, for organisations wishing to develop with BIRT, an open-source reporting framework for Eclipse. BIRT provides reporting functionality and is one of the top ten projects at Eclipse.

WindowBuilder Pro 7.0 Released
Instantiations has released WindowBuilder Pro 7.0, a Java GUI builder, and which recently won the "Best commercial Eclipse-based developer tool" category at EclipseCon 2009. Updates to 7.0 include UI Factories and Nebula widget integration, along with Swing Data Binding and GWT-Ext widgets.

Eclipse Riena 1.0 Released
The Eclipse Foundation has announced the release of Eclipse Riena 1.0, a platform for developing multi-tier rich client applications based on the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) and Equinox. Riena Core is an OSGi-based Remote Services Component for creating distributed client/server applications.
