SAP's OSGi-Based Java PaaS Achieves Java Enterprise Edition 6 Web Profile Compatibility
SAP AG announced on the 16th December that its NetWeaver Cloud product, a Java-based platform-as-a-service, has achieved Java EE 6 Web Profile Compatibility. NetWeaver Cloud runs on top of OSGi using Eclipse Virgo as the OSGi container. The product includes an Eclipse-based SDK for building, testing, and deploying applications in the cloud.

Spring Migration Analyzer: An Assistant For JavaEE To Spring Conversion
Spring Migration Analyzer is a command line utility, that takes as input the binary archive of a JavaEE application (e.g. an EAR file) and creates a report, containing JavaEE technologies used, along with advice on effort required to migrate them to Spring/Tomcat. Apache TomEE 1.0 Released
The Apache Software Foundation has released Apache TomEE 1.0. Apache TomEE, pronounced "Tommy", is a Java EE 6 Web Profile certified all-Apache stack available under the Apache 2.0 license. TomEE is composed of Tomcat (Servlet, JSP, JSTL), OpenWebBeans (CDI), OpenEJB (EJB), OpenJPA (JPA), MyFaces (JSF), Geronimo Transaction (JTA), Geronimo JavaMail (Javamail) and Apache Bean Validation.

Apache Geronimo 3 is Java EE 6 Full Profile Certified
Apache Geronimo 3.0-beta-1 is now fully Java EE 6 Certified. Geronimo joins the rank of GlassFish 3 as an open source server that has passed both Java EE 6.0 Full Profile and Web Profile certification tests. Geronimo 3 has also updated its kernel to use OSGi, based on the Apache Karaf OSGi runtime, and supports the Aries programming model.
