The initial release of the Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 VPCs downloaded prior to October 29, 2007 are set to expire on November 1, 2007 which is earlier than previously anticipated. The good news is Microsoft has new VPCs available to download now.
The information comes directly from the Visual Studio 2008 Downloads site and states:
The Beta 2 VPC images downloaded before October 29 will expire on November 1, 2007, which is earlier than anticipated. After that time, the VPC will operate for only 1-2 hours before needing to be restarted. This restart can be eliminated by upgrading the underlying installation of Windows Server on the original VPC image. In addition, new VPC images have been posted below. To transfer Team Foundation Server data to a new VPC, see Moving Team Foundation Server.
The two products effected are:
- Visual Studio Team System 2008 Beta 2 Team Suite VPC
- Visual Studio Team System 2008 Beta 2 Team Suite & Team Foundation Server VPC
These updates should help those developers soon to experience an end to using Visual Studio 2008 VPC they have been using to work with the new development environment from Microsoft.
All of the Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 VPC and ISO images are available on Microsoft's download site.
