  • IIBA announce Agile Extension to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge

    The International Institute of Business Analysis announced the release of a first draft of the Introduction for the Agile Extension to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge at Agile 2010 today. They are looking for participation and feedback from Agile practitioners and business analysis professionals.

  • MyEclipse for Spring 8.6 Released with Flex, GWT and iPhone Scaffolding

    Genuitec and Skyway Software have announced the release of MyEclipse for Spring 8.6. The latest release includes accelerators for Spring Core, Adobe Flex, Spring MVC, GWT, Spring Web Flow and iPhone Web applications. The release also introduces a new set of Spring development editors, Code Assistants, that facilitate the annotation-based development of Spring and JAX-WS artifacts.

  • Introducing Microsoft’s Dynamically Typed Data Access Library

    In conjunction with WebMatrix, Microsoft’s new tool chain for amateur web developers, Microsoft is releasing a dynamically type data access library. Similar to the Jasper project, this library trades the performance for ease of use. The result is an ORM-like API, but without the overhead of configuration files or code-generated classes.

  • Previewing the Main Features of RAD Studio XE

    Embarcadero has released a video preview of the main features coming in RAD Studio XE: Subversion support, a PHP IDE, new modeling diagrams. Future previews will include optimizations and automation features, and cloud support.

  • Tasktop Agile Planner for Eclipse Released

    Tasktop has released an Agile planning tool that leverages MyLyn connectors to provide planning support that spans across multiple project management integrations like Mingle, Team Concert, Rally, Scrumworks,JIRA and VersionOne. The Eclipse integration supports automatic linking between plan items and source code artifacts allowing developers to create and manage plans directly from Eclipse.

  • Diversity in Agile – Women in Agile interviews available

    The Agile Alliance sponsored Diversity in Agile program launched the first set of interviews from the Women In Agile series at Agile 2010 today. Shane Hastie spoke to Lisa Crispin about the work that has been done and the interviews that are available for viewing.

  • Adobe Acquires Java ECM Vendor Day Software

    Last week Adobe Systems announced it was purchasing Day Software for $240 million. The deal combines Day’s JSR-170/238 based content management and digital asset management products with Adobe’s Flex, Flash and AIR in a move to corner the web content market. In addition to being a lead company for the JSR-170/238 specifications, Day also contributes to Apache Jackrabbit and Sling.

  • Microsoft Drops Quadrant

    Mary Jo Foley is reporting that Microsoft is dropping Quadrant and is revising its plans for its M data-modeling language.

  • Last IE9 Platform Preview Available with Improved Performance and Standards Compliance

    Microsoft has released the fourth and last preview version of Internet Explorer 9, which features hardware acceleration, deep integration with the JS engine and has improvements in performance and adoption of standards like SVG, CSS, HTML5, etc.

  • Oracle Enterprise Pack Supports Eclipse 3.6, GlassFish and Coherence

    Oracle Releases Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse. The new release aligns with Eclipse 3.6, or "Helios." The bundle includes support for GlassFish, Java EE6, WebLogic administration and management, enhanced support for the WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST), and Oracle's data-grid entry, Oracle Coherence.

    The latest version of open source caching framework Ehcache supports terabyte cache and JAAS authentication with LDAP integration. Terracotta announced last week the general availability of Ehcache 2.2 version as part of Terracotta 3.3 release. The new version also includes a management console that provides visibility and control of run-time caching environment, for developers and operators.
