  • Eclipse Foundation Releases Neon

    Today, the Eclipse Foundation announced the release of Eclipse Neon, the eponymous IDE which provides support for Java, JavaScript, C/C++, PHP and Fortran, amongst others. This release marks the eleventh release of the combined release train, with contributions from 779 developers (of which 331 are committers) and totalling 69 million lines of code.   • Eclipse Foundation Releases IoT Projects

    Today, the Eclipse Foundation announced the release of a number of Internet of Things projects. These include: Eclipse Kura (a framework for building IoT gateways); Eclipse Paho (implementations of MQTT protocols); Eclipse OM2M (an open source implementation of the SmartM2M and oneM2M standard) and Eclipse SmartHome (an open source framework for building smart home solutions).

  • Install Eclipse Projects with a lot more Oomph

    At last week's EclipseCon, Eike Stepper and Ed Merks introduced Eclipse Oomph, which aims to simplify the out-of-the-box experience for Eclipse installations, facilitating IDE setup and project checkouts. Eclipse Oomph is available as a standalone installer for Eclipse and is built into Eclipse Mars packages, which are available as M6 releasees with a release date of June 2015.
