    Guice is a new open-source Dependency Injection framework for Java 5 that is closing in on a 1.0 release. Guice is a very annotation-driven, lightweight framework that provides an alternative to Spring, for a certain set of features.

  • GreenPepper aims to Improve Collaborative Testing

    Pyxis Technologies officially launched their testing product GreenPepper last July, at Agile2006. Expanding on the kind of features offered by FitNesse, it is a platform intended to improve collaboration between business experts and software developers. Now, having taken the time to respond to feedback, Pyxis is offering a more complete product with the GreenPepper 1.1 Release.

  • SQL Server 2005 Best Practices Analyzer Preview

    A CTP of the SQL Server 2005 Best Practices Analyzer is now available. This tool can be thought of as FXCop for SQL Server.

  • Reflector for .NET now supports C# 3.0

    Lutz Roeder's Reflector for .NET 5 has been released. Reflector for .NET is one of the most popular development tools for .NET. Primarily used as a class browser and decompiler for analyzing .NET assemblies, Reflector's newest release has to offer some new compelling features including support for C# 3.0.

  • Interview with Javier Paniza on OpenXava 2.1

    OpenXava, the rapid-web application framework, recently released version 2.1. InfoQ sat down with Javier Paniza, project lead for OpenXava to discuss the framework and the new release, which brings JPA support.

  • Sojo converts Java object graphs into JSON, XML-RPC

    Sojo, a young project on SourceForge, allows you to convert Java object graphs into a specific structure (CSV, JSON, XML, etc). It also supports cloning whole graphs, filtering graphs to only retrieve certain properties and traversing the graph.

  • Spring IDE 2.0 coming soon

    The Spring IDE is nearing release of version 2.0 and Rod Johnson has posted an update on their progress. Spring IDE is a set of plugins for Eclipse that provide a GUI for Spring's configuration files. Oracle has also released JDeveloper extensions for Spring development and a NetBeans Spring IDE is also in the works.

  • AgileTrack: New Agile Project Tracking Toolset Released

    After a year of beta testing, AgileTrack Software released AgileTrack 1.0.0 last week, a software development and project management tool that allows programmers to apply agile development techniques in their projects. Interesting features include: web services for 3rd party integration and collaboration facilities built into client for sharing team knowledge.

  • ScrumWorks Pro Announced

    Danube Technologies this week announced the release of ScrumWorks Pro, an enhanced, commercially supported version of their free ScrumWorks product, created specifically to support the overwhelming customer requests for new features and professional support. The product provides support for business-value driven decision making.
