MyEclipse 5.0 Released - InfoQ Interview With Genuitec
Genuitec has released MyEclipse 5.0 Enterprise Workbench. This is the first release version that supports the new Eclipse 3.2 platform. Enhancements include support for Matisse UI development, Hibernate 3.1 and Spring 2.0, and enhanced webservices and JSF features.

Microsoft Releases MSDN Library as Free Download
Microsoft has released the MSDN Library as a free public download. The library was previously only available to MSDN subscribers, though most of the information was already available through the MSDN website. The Library is current as of May 2006, and will be updated with future versions for free download.

CaptainHook, Free .NET Hook Manager For Subversion Released
Veloc-it has built a new plugin (hook) framework in .NET, CaptainHook, for those using the Subversion version control system. Subversion "hooks" are scripts that are triggered when a particular version control event happens, such as committing a set of changes. These hooks execute by defeault as perl scripts, but CaptainHook allows a .NET application to be run for more complex processing needs.

Microsoft to Release NDoc Killer
According to an MSDN Forums post, Microsft is preparing to release a Community Tech Preview (CTP) of Sandcastle (Documentation Compiler), its answer to NDoc, the open-source generator for documentation from XML code comments.

Borland to Sell Java and .NET IDE Business
Borland is getting close to finding a buyer for it's IDE business which includes JBuilder, Delphi, C#Builder, and C++Builder. The company announced it's intention 5 months ago that it wanted to sell it's IDE tools and Interbase business, and claims to have received 12 enquiries of interest.

Eclipse / Sun Relationship Still Icy
Eclipse and Sun both have large gravitational pulls in the Java community. Eclipse is the largest Java IDE while Sun controls the Java language. Cooperation between the two has been limited at best in recent years and shows little sign of improving.
